Chelsea whitewash Arsenal in pre-season friendly

Michy Batshuayi netted a brace as Chelsea defeated rivals Arsenal 3-0 in a pre-season friendly

Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday, July 22, 2017 exemplified great stuff of champions as they defeated arch rivals Arsenal 3-0 in a pre-season friendly played in China.

The Gunners were taught a good football lesson by the Blues who are still battling with the pains of their FA Cup defeat last season.

Arsenal started the match lively with the duo of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil tormenting Chelsea in the midfield, and the Gunners should have gone ahead in the 10th minutes when Ozil fired a powerful shot, but Thibaut Courtois was at full stretch to save.

The Gunners were later made to pay for their profligacy before the break as Chelsea netted two wonderful goals in two minutes.

In the 40th minute, Brazilian star Willian scored the first goal after being superbly set-up by countryman David Luiz, and Michy Batshuayi added the second goal in the 42nd minute as both sides went to the break with the Blues leading.

Nigerian international Alex Iwobi had a chance to have reduced the score line in the 47th minute for the Gunners, but wasted the glorious chance to the disappointment of manager Arsene Wenger.

Michy Batshuayi scored his second goal for Chelsea in the 49th minute to give manager Antonio Conte a good 3-0 victory to mark the extension of his contract.

It ended; Arsenal 0-3 Chelsea.
